Oxblood – It sure is the colour of the season, and here's a confession.. I am OBSESSED with these skinnys. In fact, anything that's oxblood for that matter! Presenting my favourite pick of the month, *drum roll* my oxblood pants from Forever 21!
After the huge rage over bold coloured skinnys, I now feel that they’re running out of steam. I've always wanted one of these and finally gave into my urge and bought a pair.
I think these pants can be best worn with solid colours. But if you’re feeling daring, why not play with a few prints to accompany the deep red? Duller tones would work best with oxblood and since it’s the colour for this fall, you can also pair it up with sweaters and boots for a comfy autumn look.
Here, I have teamed these pants up with an off-white lace scallop edge top for a basic day look. The sleeves are what I love the most. The lace detailing is delicate and dainty and adds to the overall prettiness of the scallop edges. Keeping in mind a casual lunch out, I decided to wear simple white gladiators. These are super comfortable and perfectly understated. Finally, to finish off the look, I added a hint of gold, by slipping on these gorgeous bracelets.

I on the other hand, have played with darker neutrals for my look. I’ve paired the pants with a basic black t-shirt and thrown on this frosted chocolate over-sized knit cardigan.
This cardigan is great for a chilly day and the deep tones are perfect for fall! I have a secret love for over-sized sweaters/t shirts. In spite of being made fun of by a few friends, I just love the feeling of snuggling in a soft warm sweatshirt(10 sizes bigger) and sipping on a steaming cup of coffee... Back to the outfit, if you are stepping out in the day, I would suggest a pair of flats, like the gold and black gladiators,
keeping it comfortable. I prefer to carry a pair of heels to instantly achieve an evening look. Most of my outfits are comfortable enough for me to wear to work and with a slight change here or there, i’m good to step out for a drink or so after - these gorgeous black suede heels in this case. I’ve completed the look by adding a brown cross body bag and a set of gold bangles.
Dhwani, is in LOVE with these skinnys and I like them too! Oxblood is one of the hottest trends this season and, while Washington Post says it's a "red for everybody" - you have to wear it right. This gorgeous colour though, is the perfect alternative neutral and whether on a coat, bag or shoes, it's everywhere right now!
