Polka dots, polka dots everywhere! Love it or hate it, you definitely can’t ignore it. Yes, you’re right! Lately my posts have all had a retro feel to them and my obsession is far from coming to an end.

Polka dots have been around for as long as I can remember. It’s retro, flirty, feminine and absolutely timeless. From the 60’s to now, everyone in the fashion world has given this classic print their own modern twists and interpretations. Despite this, I know many people who refrain from wearing the print. But those of you fretting about styling it, fear not! This summer go all out with a completely retro high waisted bikini; make a statement with an A-line midi and large dots or start simple in a basic shirt with the print toned down. I can safely admit that polka dots are surely the print that I look forward to don this summer.

I stumbled upon the ChenChen Fashion store while strolling on Church Street one afternoon and instantly had my hands full with pieces that I wanted to buy. After billing all my goodies, this polka dotted skirt caught my eye but the gods of guilt forbade me from shopping more! However, once I tried it on and observed the perfect fit, I knew I definitely could not part ways with this navy wonder. The skirt is flattering, airy, slimming and just so versatile; thus making it one of my favourite summer pieces. To complete the feminine outfit, a black ribbed crop top, one of the old treasures in my closet, seemed ideal. I put my love for mixing prints into action with this romantic look by adding these gorgeous roses to go along with my polka dotted ensemble.

So until my next post, I’m off waltzing to some 50’s music and enjoying my love affair with polka dots and all things retro!
